Why I have loved October

I haven't been very arty this much as I have been busy with Ruby's Aunties from the UK. It has been great this month having them here, but alas it went too fast and they have gone back home. We have had a great time with them and we will miss them around the house. But on the brighter side some of my favourite things came out this month, the new copy of "Frankie" and from Meet me at Mikes the follow up craft book "Sew la tea do". In the post came some great material I ordered from Funky Fabrix and Mum knitted a new cardigan for Ruby. And on the down side I have discovered ( a bit late) Ebay ....oh dear, lucky none of bids have won.
Oh and another good thing was tickets to Laneway, cant wait for that one.

My material purchases, cushions and things for Ruby will be made. And projects from Sew la tea do.

You just have to love them by the covers, but when you look inside and all the loveliness you would see why I couldn't wait to pick up my copies of them both.

I love handmade for Ruby, mum knitted her this beautiful cardigan and I made these super cute buttons to go with it. The background is a floor quilt mum also made for tummy time.

Owl Calander

I have added a link on the side of my Blog to create your own beautiful Owl 2011 Calender. I do love owls and found this owl loving blog My Owl Barn which is dedicated to all things to do with owls. You can custom create your own calender choosing from many simply lovely owl designs. One of which is the owl card I bought at the Gaffa on the weekend.
Have a go and enjoy this wonderfully beautiful owl gift from My owl Barn, it is so lovely I just had to share.

Ruby in the City

On the weekend we took Ruby to Sydney with her Aunties from the UK. It was our first major trip with her and she was so good. I took them all to the "Gaffa Gallery" to see the Arcade Project put on by the Finders Keepers Markets. It was like a mini market with lots of hand made goodies and hard not to buy anything. But I did manage to pick up the Frankie 2011 journal and some cute cards I will put on Ruby's wall. I missed the Sydney Finders Keepers as I had just returned from the UK and was jet lagged, and the markets were on in Melbourne on this weekend. They are on again in Sydney on the 3rd&4th Dec so I will be there then.
We went to Bondi Markets on Sunday and it was a beautiful day for it, cant wait to go again.

Here are my buys from the Gaffa, the ever so pretty Frankie journal and 2 cards by Nikki Catalano

I bought this cute hankie in Bondi Junction, it is too good to be used. I think I might frame it instead.
